Experience

Emma has worked in regional school improvement since 2017 when she was seconded as a GCSE project lead for English. Since then she has undertaken a role as leader of learning for English and has represented regional consortia as lead for PISA.

She began her career in education in 2001 as an English/RS/media studies teacher at an 11-16 comprehensive in Swansea. She has held leadership positions of Literacy Co-ordinator and head of English. Emma worked at local authority level as an advisory teacher for literacy working with primary and secondary schools across Swansea. Emma also has experience as an examiner for GCSE English and as a moderator for GCSE media studies.
